I know this news will not be met well however, the pool needs to remain closed on Wednesday 6/17. The pool company is estimating at this time that the chemical levels will be back to normal and safe for occupancy around 4:00 pm on Wednesday.
The pool company spent today, and are going out first thing tomorrow, to balance the chemicals while killing the algae that was in the water. Some of the chemicals used unfortunately can counteract each other to a degree and makes the process take quite some time. 100% of the water in the pool then has to pass through the filtration system and chemical feeders on the pump system and back into the pool before accurate chemical levels can be measured. One cycle of that process takes approximately 4 hours.
The cleaning of the other pool areas (restrooms, door knobs, toilets, tables etc.) has been verified via geotagging of the clock-in system used by the cleaning vendor. This means that the individuals cleaning can not clock in unless they are on property. We have also checked gate access and alarm system access and verified that they are entering the facility and cleaning. The specific time they show up for that cleaning was never set, just agreed upon that they would go after the pool facility closed for the day.
I sincerely apologize for the issues that the pool has had the last 2+ days and I assure you that it has been my number one priority this week. An update as to the status of the pool opening will be sent out as soon as it changes.
Castlegate II Residents,
I believe most are aware by now about the state the pool was in yesterday. The company that services the pool completely dropped the ball on their service to the pool due to what they said were “unforeseen staffing changes”.
The pool service company last cleaned the pool on Wednesday 6/10/2020. Chemicals were checked by myself last on Friday 6/12/2020. The pool was scheduled to be cleaned again on Friday of last week but was not. After speaking with the pool company owner, they informed us that they had multiple staff members quit on Friday and did not inform us about it. The pool cleaners that were supposed to fill in were not aware of the schedule for cleaning and missed the regular Monday morning cleaning and chemical treatment.
Last night, I spoke with the owner of the pool service company and went over the schedule and expectations with the new service manager to get us back on our normal schedule. They have been out this morning (Tuesday) to do the chemical treatment for this week and to do a cleaning. After today, the schedule will revert back to normal:
Monday morning 6am-3pm pool closed for cleaning and chemical application.
Friday morning 6am-8am pool closed for cleaning.
We sincerely apologize for the state the pool was in yesterday. Had we been aware of the staffing issues/changes with the pool service company ahead of time, we could have avoided this issue. I have been assured by the company owner and new service manager both that they are fully aware of the schedule now and that they will stick to it and that this issue will not happen again.
Due to staffing changes with the pool service company; cleaning on Monday was missed this week. We have contacted the pool company and they will be treating the pool Tuesday morning (6/16).
Due to this, the pool opening on Tuesday will be delayed until 2:00 p.m. We apologize for the inconvenience but ensure you we are taking care of the pool cleanliness issues.
Aggieland Houses has unfortunate news to report. Two of our three staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.
One of the staff members was at the pool on Thursday, June 11th. The pool has been sanitized since then four (4) times.
The office will be closed until the earliest, July 6th. However, we are working from home remotely and feel confident we can still serve the community.
We appreciate your understanding during this difficult, unprecedented time.
Beginning June 9th: Pool will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., while staffed from noon to 7:00 p.m.
