Dear Castlegate II Residents,

The pool is being closed effective immediately until further notice.  Today (7/3/2020), we were notified by The Pool Guys that the main pool pump is inoperable.  The Pool Guys were aware of this at the beginning of the week and have said it contributed to the pool being dirty this week.  They had been doing chemical treatments by hand and monitoring the chemical levels throughout the week while they tried to fix the pump.  At this time though, the filtration system is off and we can not operate the pool safely.

The pool is planned to be closed through at least Monday, July 6, while we wait for the parts to come in that are needed to fix the pump.  Once repairs are completed or there is another update about the status of the pool, we will send out another notice to let you all know. We do apologize for the inconvenience.

The board has made the decision to extend pool hours effective immediately. Please see the schedule below:

Monday: 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.

                Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday, Saturday & Sunday: 6 a.m. – 9 p.m.

                Friday: 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.

I know this news will not be met well however, the pool needs to remain closed on Wednesday 6/17.  The pool company is estimating at this time that the chemical levels will be back to normal and safe for occupancy around 4:00 pm on Wednesday.

The pool company spent today, and are going out first thing tomorrow, to balance the chemicals while killing the algae that was in the water.  Some of the chemicals used unfortunately can counteract each other to a degree and makes the process take quite some time.  100% of the water in the pool then has to pass through the filtration system and chemical feeders on the pump system and back into the pool before accurate chemical levels can be measured.  One cycle of that process takes approximately 4 hours.

The cleaning of the other pool areas (restrooms, door knobs, toilets, tables etc.) has been verified via geotagging of the clock-in system used by the cleaning vendor.  This means that the individuals cleaning can not clock in unless they are on property.  We have also checked gate access and alarm system access and verified that they are entering the facility and cleaning.  The specific time they show up for that cleaning was never set, just agreed upon that they would go after the pool facility closed for the day.

I sincerely apologize for the issues that the pool has had the last 2+ days and I assure you that it has been my number one priority this week.  An update as to the status of the pool opening will be sent out as soon as it changes.
